Privacy policy
This is a translation of the Russian original for convenience. Should the two texts differ, the Russian version governs.
AutoExam Drive is a working app for conducting practical driving examinations. It is used by staff of the organisations that operate AutoExam equipment: driving schools, examination centres and driving-range operators. There is no self-registration in the app.
This document describes the processing of data in the AutoExam Drive app. Use of the autoexam.kz website is governed by a separate policy published there: the data and the purposes are different.
Who processes the data
The operator of the app and of the server infrastructure is ТОО «AUTOEXAM», BIN 121140003183, Republic of Kazakhstan, 010000, Astana, Nura district, Shyngys Aitmatov street 40/2, unit 13.
Examination data is collected in the interests of the organisation conducting the examination: it decides who is examined, which records are kept and for how long. ТОО «AUTOEXAM» provides that organisation with the app and the infrastructure and processes the data on its instructions, not for its own purposes.
What data is collected
The scope follows from the task — to confirm the identity of the examinee and to record the course of the drive. Nothing listed here is used for advertising or passed to third parties for their own purposes.

The app does not collect data about browsing, search queries or behaviour in other apps, does not use advertising identifiers and does not track the user across apps and websites.
The data collected is not used for advertising, is not sold and is not passed to third parties for their own purposes. There are no purchases, subscriptions or payment operations in the app, so no payment or financial data is collected.
Device permissions
- Bluetooth — connection to the on-board positioning receiver and the computer-vision unit.
- Location (Android only) — required by the operating system in order to discover Bluetooth devices. The app does not use the phone's or tablet's own satellite module: coordinates come from the receiver in the vehicle. There is no background access to location.
- Camera — photograph of the face and the document, video recording of the examination.
- Microphone — audio for the examination recording.
- Local network — delivering updates to the in-vehicle equipment over Wi-Fi.
Where the data is stored
There is no single shared database. Each site has its own separate server, and the examination materials go to the server of the organisation that conducted the examination, together with the file storage attached to it. Data from different sites is not mixed.
The location of the server follows from the region of the site, and for a turnkey deployment from the organisation's own choice. The specific hosting location is stated by the organisation that issued your account, or by the operator on request.
Transmission uses a secured connection with verification of the server's authenticity. Personal data may be disclosed to authorised state bodies only on the grounds and in the manner established by applicable law.
The examinee's access to their own drive
After the drive, the examinee can review their own lap: a QR code opens a web interface with the recording and the trajectory. Access is granted to the materials of that particular drive and is served by the organisation that conducted the examination.
How long the data is kept
The retention period is set by the organisation that conducted the examination: it decides which materials it needs and for how long, based on legal requirements and its own rules. The data sits on its server, and ТОО «AUTOEXAM» keeps it for exactly as long as the contract with that organisation provides, deleting it on the organisation's instruction or when the contract ends.
To learn the period applicable to your materials, ask the organisation that issued your account, or request it from the operator — an answer is sent within 30 calendar days.
Deletion of data
Accounts are issued by the organisation, so there are two ways to disable access and delete the data associated with it: contact the operator at your organisation, or send a request directly — the account deletion page. The request does not require signing in to the app.
A reply is sent within 30 calendar days of receipt; within the same period from confirmation of the request, the account and the data associated with it are deleted.
Examination materials that the organisation is obliged to keep by law or by its own rules are deleted once the retention period expires. This is stated in the reply to the request.
Data from enquiries
A deletion request is sent by email to the operator's address. In the message you state your name, the organisation and a contact for the reply — this data is needed only to locate the account, confirm the right to make the request and report the outcome. The site itself contains no forms and stores nothing.
The enquiry and the correspondence about it are kept for as long as is necessary to handle the request and to evidence its completion, and are then deleted. Requests are handled by a member of the operator's staff — no account is deleted automatically on the strength of an email.
Children
The app is intended for the staff of organisations and is not directed at children. Examinees are admitted to a practical examination in accordance with the statutory requirements on the age of a driver.
Changes
When the scope of the data collected changes, this policy is updated and the revision date at the head of the document changes with it. Material changes are additionally communicated to client organisations.
Governing law and disputes
The processing of data in the app is governed by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A pre-action procedure is mandatory before going to court: a written claim is considered within 30 calendar days of receipt and the claimant is notified of the outcome in writing.
